Ethics and Code of Conduct

This policy outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process of the British Journal of Business Sciences (BJBS), including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. BJBS follows the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity in scholarly publishing.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing

BJBS is dedicated to maintaining high ethical standards in all aspects of the publication process. Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit and are free from commercial, financial, or personal influence. The journal supports open dialogue and the advancement of business sciences through responsible and ethical research dissemination.

Editorial Responsibilities

  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively and based on academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all submitted materials and disclose manuscript information only to individuals involved in the evaluation process.
  • Refrain from using unpublished content for personal advantage without the author’s explicit permission.
  • Ensure a fair, unbiased peer review process and actively check for plagiarism and ethical misconduct.

Author Responsibilities

  • Submit original work that accurately reflects the research conducted and includes appropriate citation of prior work.
  • List all significant contributors as co-authors and acknowledge others who contributed indirectly.
  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest and all funding sources that supported the work.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards when research involves human or animal subjects.
  • Inform the editorial office promptly if a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication.

Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Provide constructive, impartial, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all review materials and avoid using information for personal gain.
  • Notify the editor of any potential conflicts of interest or limitations in expertise that may affect the review process.
  • Alert editors to relevant work not cited and to possible instances of duplication or plagiarism.

Publisher Responsibilities

  • Support editorial independence and uphold ethical publishing standards across all journal operations.
  • Provide systems, guidance, and oversight to maintain integrity in the peer review and publication process.
